One Minute Puberty (Age Progression)

(Thanks to the folks at Visible Time for the tip.) One Minute Puberty is a witty, wise, and pretty dazzling animated short that is exactly what its title says. It shows not only the physical transformation of puberty but also the mental ones, and how we hopefully come out of it with a richer, reconstituted sense of self. (Lucky people anyway--mentally I'm still a stunted adolescent!). In the video there might even be a very slight nod at the werewolf-as-puberty metaphor when the title character, sporting newly-grown "hair down there," squats on his haunches and runs on all fours toward a giant breast. If only puberty was that exciting for the rest of us...

  1. Eef! Really wild and scary video, but great animation, too! :) Yep, I search that site often for material, especially things on puberty, as the natural transformations of growth always excite me to watch first hand. Hence, I try to find many documentaries on the male body / puberty that show such growth in all its wonderful ways.

I often like to ask guys "What do you remember happening to you during puberty?" as often the discovery of those changes in your own body can be comparable to realizing you're a werewolf (and too many TV shows / movies have made that metaphor in more tragic circumstances).

But as painful or problematic as can be, I always wish for the unleashing the beast to be the most freeing and incredible transformation imaginable. :)

What about clips on evolution or de-evolution? I've recently gotten interesetd in gorilla transformations, and know of two very good videos a close friend of mine did that show him becoming a huge muscular gorilla-beast (though suited, he did an INCREDIBLE job). I'll ask his permission to share with you, if you're interested!

    *BIG hugs*

  2. Hello Furio,

You must have gotten pretty interesting answers from the guys you asked! I love evolution/devolution clips, but they're much harder to find and rarer than, say, werewolf clips. Stonegate once posted a Neanderthal TF from a bad 80s cartoon called Dinosaucers--the TF itself is bad, but the guy's caveman form is really hunky. You can see the TF here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiLvAcxZfEc at the 3:19 mark. He stays in devolved for the most of the rest of the episode too.

Though this blog is mostly devoted to professionally-made TFs in the media, I do showcase amateur works on occasion, so if your friend would like to share, I'd happily link to his work. Big hugs back to you too.

  3. Do you know this AP tf?

It's Kirikou (keereekoo), a French cartoon. The protagonists are a fearless baby and an evil witch, in Africa. At the end, thanks to Kirikou, the witch becomes kind and gives him a magic kiss!

  4. My apologies for this late response Anonymous--I'll try and work the Kirikou video into the next update. Thanks!

  5. Practical Special Makeup Effects would be really 100X awesome!! Many horror filmmakers ought to make hundreds to thousands of weird horrifying short movies about a 30 year old man physically transforms himself into an 80 old man then physically changes back into his original young age. Film directors and producers would have to get many good special effects artists to do six to seven different transformation scenes by making a whole lot of prosthetic animatronic effects, whole lot of head/body inflatable air bladder effects from small to huge inflated bladders effects, do lots of different age young to old prosthetic effects effects with some inflated bladders effects and maybe should do one or two stop-motion effects.
