Hellhounds (Werewolf Transformation)

Welcome to the spring update! We sat out the winter because it was a terrible one for finding TF content. And even if we had made a few small updates, they wouldn't have been very exciting. So thank you for your patience and we hope you enjoy the 27 new items. Thanks as always to everyone who gave us tips and suggestions. 

Back when I started this blog in 2010, werewolves were extremely popular in movies and TV, thanks to the after-effects of Twilight. How things have changed! They've mostly disappeared from TV (computer-animated cartoons usually steer clear of TF scenes). And when a werewolf movie appears it's either going for the novelty value of a female werewolf or it's one of those worthless zero-budget indies. 

Hellhounds is definitely in the low-budget category and the morphing effects are from of the 1990s, but the latter raise it slightly above its bargain basement competition (and the lead is easy on the eyes). 

This clip was cut together from many different scenes, so apologies for the choppy transitions (Avidemux only allows me to cut on key frames). First we see the young protagonist transform, then we get a second TF scene; then our hero encounters an older werewolf and they both transform; finally, the younger werewolf reverts and the older one transforms again.

Episode five of this anime from 1989 gives us a lion transformation (it's a classical Chinese-style lion):

Titans: Beast World (Lion, Starfish, Turtle, Wolf, Cat, and Fox Transformations)

This multi-issue crossover series involves various superheroes being transformed into beast-people. I thought the story was rather dopey and I was underwhelmed by the transformations, but let's see what you think. 

The fun starts in Titans: Beast World #1. Beast Boy, while in whale form, turns into the alien Starro (a really big starfish):

Then, to make a long story short, little starros start falling from the sky and into people's mouths, turning them into anthropoid beasts. Black Adam is the first to transform:

 

The fun continues in Titans: Beast World Tour Metropolis, when Jimmy Olsen turns into a giant turtle (which he's done on other occasions). He attacks a bridge and eventually turns back to normal:

In Titans: Beast World #2, Batman gets infected with a spore by another beast-person and turns into a man-wolf (why not a vampire bat?):

In Nightwing #109, Damian Wayne (obnoxious son of Bruce), the current Robin, is force-fed a spore and gets in touch with his feline side:

Nightwing himself becomes a real fox in Titans #6 and 7--he reverts in the latter issue as well:

Finally, both Batman and Beast Boy are cured in Titans: Beast World #6:

High Card (Bat Transformation and Werewolf Reversion)

Episode 13 (or episode one of the second season) of this anime features a shapeshifter character. This clip is assmbled from several scenes: first the character shows up as a gorilla/ape-man. He's chased into the woods and then transforms into an anthropoid bat. He then disappears and shows up as a werewolf. Another bad guy catches and kills him, and he reverts to human form.

Spirou is a weekly Belgian comics magazine that has been published since 1938. Each issue is an anthology containing many comics of varying length. So far I've managed to find three werewolf appearances--if any Francophone readers know of more, let me know.

Le Reveil du Zelphire (Tree and Monster Transformations)

Sylvan, the appropriately named protagonist of this French comic, has the ability to turn into an anthropomorphic tree. From volume one:
