My thanks to Cole for recommending this 2007 film based on the GeGeGe no Kitarō franchise.
A boy is either transformed into or possessed by a snake demon (yokai). Either that or the demon has been merely posing as a boy. In any case, the demon later on transforms into a more mature form.
This clip was edited together from various scenes, so my apologies if it's a bit of a mess.
