Lac-Noir (Werewolf Transformation)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Here are 17 new items for you. They cover Halloween and the month of October, so naturally this update has lots of werewolves in it.

And here's something to be thankful for: a good live-action werewolf transformation accomplished with practical effects!

Lac-Noir is a French-language horror series from Quebec that deals with a community of werewolves. In episode six of the second season a transformation occurs. 

The set-up: Jade has accidentally infected her boyfriend Dave with lycanthropy. She is able to repress her wolf side with medication but this isn't an option for Dave, so she comforts him as the full moon rises. Dave's mother waits anxiously outside as the transformation begins:

Capwolf and the Howling Commandos (Werewolf Transformations)

When Captain America first transformed into a werewolf during the '90s it was considered an embarrassment, but the idea never went away. And now Capwolf and the Howling Commandos has fully embraced it. The comic is set in World War II and shows Captain America fighting Nazi werewolves.

In the first issue he gets ambushed by them:

There's Something About Movies (Werewolf Transformations)

Our thanks to "Fatwerewolf" for suggesting this video on our Discord server. There's Something About Movies is a British comedy panel show. In the first episode of season four, two panelists recreate the famous transformation scene from An American Werewolf in London. They do a decent job, which raises a question...

If it's possible to achieve such effects on a British panel show, why do so many higher-budget American programs fail at werewolf transformations? Perhaps in the UK practical effects are cheaper than CGI.

Issue 20 of the Italian comic Mytico retells the myth of Lycaon, who tried to kill Zeus and was punished. He gave his name to lycanthropy:

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Wolf Transformation)

Our thanks to "Dove" for recommending two scenes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. In episode 25 (episode 177 of the entire series) an old man turns into a wolf, and in the next episode Anasui develops some canine traits during a partial transformation. 

Monsters and men & bonus (Werewolf transformation and Muscle Growth)

Here is part one of an animation by Husskoni--future parts are in the pipeline. The transformation in this video is primarily muscle and hair growth but the next installement promises lycanthropy.

In the second episode, Lou reveals he is a Rougarou (derived from "Loup Garou," French for werewolf) when he saves Missy's life. In the next episode she recovers but develops an unfortunate craving, and Lou is there to help her:

Tales of The Titans (Whale & Werewolf Transformations)

Issue 4 starts with Beast Boy reverting from whale to human form:

He surfaces and encounters an unusual wolf:

The wolfman turns out to be Anthony Lupus, the DC comics werewolf who first appeared in 1974. You can see his earlier transformations here and also here.

Lupus captures Beast Boy and uses him to try and create a cure for lycanthropy. It doesn't go well:

In After Dark episode nine, Drew wakes up from a nightmare and enters a real one (the transformation concludes in episode 12).
