"Opapatika," "Ziam," (Rebirth, Zombie, Demon, and Werewolf Transformations)

 From the Thai film Opapatika/ Demon Warriors (2007): "Jirat (Somchai Khemklad) has the ability is to be reborn each time he dies. However, each rebirth comes with intense physical pain, as if his body were shedding like a snake while still keeping its original form."

 

From the Thai film Ziam (2025): "Near the end of the movie, the defeated zombies in the hospital suddenly mutate into super zombies after getting sprayed by the sprinkler systems (no explanation why):

 

From the TV movie Thor: Hammer of the Gods (2009): "Thor confronts his evil brother Ulfrich, who unleashes his newfound powers and transforms into a muscular demon."

 

From the campy Japanese feature Red Sword (2012): "Long, long ago, there was a wolf-man tribe who had no women. All through history these desperate wolf men have attacked female humans as a way to continue their species. But the wolf men have a legend where every hundred years, on the night of a red moon, a little girl is born and she is destined to destroy the wolf-man tribe." 

The Breach (Monster Transformation)

Spongebob Squarepants (Monster/Zombie Transformations)

Our thanks to an anonymous reader who recommended the episode "Krabby Patty Creature Feature" (season 11, ep. 7), in which multiple characters are turned into hamburger zombie monsters.

This Polish horror film features a cute young policeman who gets tongued by a female zombie and turned into her hideous monster mate. My thanks to Noodles on our Discord channel for recommending the film. The clip is edited together from several scenes. 

Resident Evil (Various Monster and Zombie Transformations)

Someone in Japan has assembled a 26 minute supercut of all the transformation scenes from the Resident Evil games. Not being a gamer, I can't tell you anything more about the content.

TF Video Round-Up 09/19 (Boar, Transgender, Demon, and Wing Transformations)

Our first selection was found by Kumaguma, who presents a short animation of a wereboar titled 🐷🌕🐗:




Next, a very strange ad from Korea that involves a woman-to-man transformation. I have no idea what it's selling!




This mysterious special effects test video claims to depict a werewolf, but the horns suggest a demon instead:




The next two videos were suggested by Ian Ricky. The first is from the horror anime Junji Ito Collection, Episode 5, "The Ongoing Tale of Oshikiri." An alternate dimension version of the protagonist Oshikiri is transformed into a hideous demon/zombie by a serum injected by the real world Oshikiri.




Lastly, Ian has also supplied a partial-TF from the 2017 Tv series The Mist (S01E03 "Show and Tell"). A character named Mikhail Demidoff grows moth wings after a moth burrows into his ear and multiplies. The efrfects are ultimately lethal

Le Collège Invisible (Werewolf and Zombie Transformations)

This comedic bande dessinée is about some teenagers attending a school for magic (sounds familiar?). In Volume 2, Thomas (the hero William's best friend) contracts lycanthropy, giving rise to the following dialogue:

-- Uh ... William, I'm growing hair.
-- At our age that's normal Thomas. It's puberty, your body changes, it's nothing to be ashamed of.
--No, I'm really growing hair.


The comic than skips ahead a couple pages before returning to the transformation:

I'm not going to translate the whole page, but "couché" obviously is equivalent to "sit!"


After Thomas wakes up human the next day, he's told of his condition, and asks if he was bitten last month. That should be easy to verify, says William:

"Ah," says William, "you see, I was right...you can still see the mark. Crazy! My friend is a werewolf. My cousin will be jealous--his friend is just a redhead."


Later we get a one-panel transformation:

After this, we get another one-panel TF in Volume 4, when Thomas is in a magic competition with someone who foolishly generates a fool moon...

Lastly, in Volume 7 Thomas is held at gunpoint and comes up with a visual simile:

And that's all. The series has reached 10 volumes, but with no decent werewolf transformations in the last three entries. However, as a bonus I'm throwing in a zombie/ghoul transformation from Volume 5. Enjoy mes amis!
