The storyboards for the werewolf transformation in the 1996 film Bad Moon have recently appeared online. In my opinion they're better than the filmed transformation, which relied heavily on dated morphing effects (you can watch it at TF Dimension). You be the judge!
Thanks to Arben Sear on our Discord channel for alerting us to the storyboards.
Our thanks to Mr. TF for recommending this horror film through our Discord server. The TF begins at 01:04:10 (the video is cued). After watching through to 01:06:10, you can skip ahead to 01:08:26 to see the creature's final form (alas, his transition is offscreen).
One of the highlights of 2022 was the Indian werewolf film Bhediya (its transformation scenes can be viewed here and here). This year the werewolf reappeared in the Indian vampire film Thamma, and we were treated to another good transformation scene, along with some vampire-versus-werewolf combat. Interestingly, the werewolf design has changed, going from feral to bipedal.
This video, which has been edited together from various scenes, includes a humorous reversion.
And here's a less-dark, slow-motion version of the transformation, contributed by our friend Noodles to our Discord server:
Welcome to the holiday update! We close 2024 on a high note, with 20 new posts, and wish to thank all our readers, including those who made suggestions and contributions in the comments or inour Discord channel. Let's hope for a New Year full of further transformations!
Now we move on to a movie released just this month, Werewolves. What a relief to find a recent werewolf film with good transformation scenes!
In the first scene, several test subjects are exposed to the light of the full moon and transform:
The second clip has spoilers and reveals the climax, so consider yourself forewarned. But if you're just interested in a good TF scene, watch and enjoy!
Chinese werewolf movies are rare (previous examples can be seen here and here), and now we see one more, Fangs & Fury (狼战). The onscreen transformation is only partial, but perhaps the film reflects growing interest in werewolves among the Chinese, a trend we wholeheartedly encourage.
My thanks to Tinob and Classymike on our Discord server for finding this scene from the Spanish film La Espera (2023). It's a dream sequence showing a partial transformation, but includes what I think is the most important part of a transformation scene. You can guess what it is from the clip...
My thanks to Ian Ricky for finding and uploading the following clips.
From the Japanese film Assassination Classroom: Graduation (2016), Yanagisawa (Hiroki Narimiya) injects himself with artificial tentacles and turns into a big monster:
Next, a human reveals his true alien self in this commercial for Wai Wai Quick Noodles:
And for those who'd like to see even more skin-shedding, here's an age progression scene from The Extant (S02E03):
Welcome to the spring update! We sat out the winter because it was a terrible one for finding TF content. And even if we had made a few small updates, they wouldn't have been very exciting. So thank you for your patience and we hope you enjoy the 27 new items. Thanks as always to everyone who gave us tips and suggestions.
Back when I started this blog in 2010, werewolves were extremely popular in movies and TV, thanks to the after-effects of Twilight. How things have changed! They've mostly disappeared from TV (computer-animated cartoons usually steer clear of TF scenes). And when a werewolf movie appears it's either going for the novelty value of a female werewolf or it's one of those worthless zero-budget indies.
Hellhounds is definitely in the low-budget category and the morphing effects are from of the 1990s, but the latter raise it slightly above its bargain basement competition (and the lead is easy on the eyes).
This clip was cut together from many different scenes, so apologies for the choppy transitions (Avidemux only allows me to cut on key frames). First we see the young protagonist transform, then we get a second TF scene; then our hero encounters an older werewolf and they both transform; finally, the younger werewolf reverts and the older one transforms again.
Our thanks to Markus for contributing these clips from the horror/drama film Wolfkin (2022). In the first scene a young werewolf undergoes a partial transformation:
Here's a slow-motion version Markus created:
To see what he looks like afterward, here's a scene of the unfortunate lycanthrope getting his gangs extracted. Someone call PETA!
Thanks to an anonymous reader for recommending this promotional clip made for War of the Planet Apes, which shows Andy Serkis's face transforming into a chimpanzee's:
We wish to thank Renviurry Fresdrite for recommending this strange Filipino comedy about a man who must complete three heroic tasks to lift a curse placed upon him by the goddess of horses:
Welcome to our first update of 2023!(Better late than never.) Thanks again to everyone who suggested and contributed material, including anyone whose requests we haven't got to yet. The blog has also passed a milestone---we've made more than a thousand posts! Will we make it to two thousand? Will the world end before then? The only way to find out is to keep reading! On with the update, which has 21 new posts waiting for you...
This Polish horror film features a cute young policeman who gets tongued by a female zombie and turned into her hideous monster mate. My thanks to Noodles on our Discord channel for recommending the film. The clip is edited together from several scenes.
In response to a request from Isabella, here are several transformations from the Venom movies where the different symbiotes take on a host and transform into a stronger form:
This low budget independent film features a werewolf transformation that uses practical effects. When I say "low budget" I mean shoestring, so keep that in mind before watching this clip, which was been edited together from various scenes.
Welcome to our last update of 2022! We hope you've had a very Merry Christmas and wish you an even merrier 2023. We have 19 new items for you to ring in the New Year with. We finished this update away from home, so bear with any technical difficulties. We also had to postpone a few items, so stay tuned in 2023. On with the update!
The biggest transformation news of the season involved the Indian horror-comedy film Bhediya, which features two werewolf transformations. Our thanks to SurprisedAlpha for this video compilation:
Since the film is still in theaters, we'll have to wait a while for a true HD video that shows the entire image, since the circulating unofficial videos tend to be cropped. Here's an alternative video of the second transformation, which is less cropped in some areas, including the part with muzzle growth:
After going through countless porn pages and websites of dubious origin, I finally found and edited the second transformation, enjoy it P.S. Does anyone else think that Indian actors are incredibly sexy? pic.twitter.com/F7y7QNeDyF
Here's a rarity--a film from Myanmar (Burma). It's called In the Moonlit Inn (လေရာင္ျဖာတဲ့ အင္းေလးမွာ) and has, from what I can tell, a plot involving identical twins, one of whom transforms into a monster under the full moon. Unfortunately we don't see his face transform:
He reverts later on, but we only see his hand turn human.
And here's a bonus, a reptilian monster transformation from an unknown film or TV show (anyone know which one?), recommended by Noodles on our Discord server:
Welcome to the late summer update! We hope you'll enjoy what's in store. Thanks for your suggestions and apologies for any we missed.
We thank the anonymous commenter who suggested Pil's Adventures, a computer-animated medieval fairy tale. It was made in France but the version I obtained is the American dub (hélas!). I've edited together four transformation scenes.
In the first, the crown prince drinks a potion that turns him into a creature with the body of a cat and head of a chicken. Even better, in the next scene there's a hunky were-unicorn! Afterward come the reversion scenes for him and the cat-chicken. Bon appétit!
