Transformers: Rescue Bots (Monster Transformation)

UPDATE TIME! I know it's been a while, but 2020 has been and probably will be a very slow year...for everything. But to help you pass the dog days of summer and in-home confinement, here are 31 items for you, spread over a couple of pages. Let us know what you think!

"Feed the Beast" is the title of the ninth episode of season three of Transformers: Rescue Bots, and for a very good reason. Graham, one of the human characters, develops an addiction to "Magic Meat," which ends up transforming him into a hulking beast:

(I  appreciate how his clothes burst completely off!)

Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen (Turtle Transformation)

The first issue of the limited series Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen pays homage to the Silver Age comic of the same name, which often featured Jimmy Olsen transforming into various weird monster and creatures. So here we see Jimmy turn into a monster-size Turtle. As always, Superman is there to save him and limit potential property damage. I especially like this comic because  there aren't many turtle transformations on this blog...or anywhere else...

Is it wrong to say naked Jimmy Olsen is kind of hot?

"Beware the Moon" and "Jekyll and Hyde" (Werewolf and Monster Transformations)

Thanks to Ian Ricky (from our Discord channel) and ClassyMike for recommending this video. It is based on the mythic movie scene from An American Werewolf in London, but in an animated form. A transformation I am sure that many have seen and loved. This is the artist's original video by the way.

The same artist, Jota Han, has also animated Dr. Jekyll's transformation into Mr. Hyde:

Chatons contre Dinosaures (Dinosaur Transformation)

The title of this French comic translates to Kittens versus Dinosaurs. I will try to summarize the plot: a young girl is given a set of kittens by her dad, who is a scientist. The kittens turn out to be ninja kitties who help the girl foil an alien invasion. The aliens have hatched a dastardly plot to turn humans into dinosaurs, and one of their victims is the girl's father!

Alas, the reversion scene is not shown, but I included the panels below anyway.

Gleipnir (Dog/Monster Transformation)

Kumaguma here with a transformation from the 2020 spring anime Gleipnir. I am sure that people recognize this title from a previous post. The protagonist is a young man who can transform into a dog-like creature with animalistic senses and superhuman strength. His first transformation happens as he saves a girl from a burning building. He then later reverts back to a human after he succeeds. Another transformation occurs when the same girl is pushed off a building; after a short talk he transforms back into his human form.

"Sacrées Sorcières," aka "The Witches" (Mouse Transformation)

Sacrées Sorcières is a French comic book adaptation of Road Dahl's classic children's novel The Witches. As in the book, the main character is boy who discovers a convention of witches. After the witches find him eavesdropping, they force the boy to drink a formula that turns him into a mouse:

The Magic Kids (Werewolf Transformation)

The actual title of this children's fantasy movie is Die Wolf-Gäng and its original language is German. Unfortunately the best copy I could find was of the English dub, titled The Magic Kids – Three Unlikely Heroes. I prefer to present film and TV clips in their original language, so I apologize for this.

The film is set in a school for young monsters. One of the students is a young werewolf with an unfortunate allergy. The clip contains a scene from the beginning of the film and the end. Sadly the second stage of the transformation occurs offscreen. 2020 has been a bad year for everything!

Morbius: The Living Vampire (Vampire, Rat, and Hawk Transformations)

My thanks to Vanzilen on our Discord channel for recommending this 5 issue limited series. In the first issue of Morbius: The Living Vampire the title character tries finding a cure for his condition but instead turns himself into an even more monstrous vampire:

In issue 4 Morbius grows even more bloodthirsty and bat-like:

And to make things worse, a super-villain is conducting experiments to transform people into animals. He gets off to a good start by turning a man into a rat:

In issue 5 Morbius confronts the villain, who uses the serum on himself to become a dog-man and fight Morbius:

Unable to cure the villain, Morbius eventually devises an effective cure:

He tests the new cure on a hawk-man, who reverts to normal:

Archibald contre les Loups-Garous (Bear and Werewolf Transformations)

Volume 2 of the French comic book series Archibald is titled Contre les Loups-Garous (Against the Werewolves). Though a werewolf is involved, the real villain is a were-bear.

We start with a mysterious man in a top hat having a drink at a bar:

The mysterious man in the top hat later engages in a bit of streetfighting:

The mysterious man runs into Archibald (the hero of the series), who introduces him to Archibald's new friend Jean, who is also a bit mysterious.

And now the climax. The mysterious man in the hat turns out to be the ringmaster of a circus freak show and is exhibiting Jean as a werewolf.

Archibald demands that Jean be released. When the ringmaster whips them, Jean breaks out of his cage and attacks the ringmaster, who turns into a bear:

Rest assured that Jean gets his freedom!

"Mutant Mass" (Muscle Growth Transformations)

Courtesy of Ian Ricky is a commercial for "Mutant Mass" from the Philippines, titled The Last Man Standing. I have the feeling this film is actually a special effects demonstration for a fictitious product. If that's the case, this production company (Wonderlast Films) deserves more work, because these effects are better than anything I've seen on Filipino TV.

If you're interested, here's a VFX breakdown video.

Idle Transformation (Werewolf, Yeti, Lizard and Chimpanzee Transformations)

My thanks to Arenson for recommending this "max level" gameplay video from the mobile game Idle Transformation. It shows a man turning into a werewolf, yeti, lizard-man, mummy, and chimpanzee.

"Nightwing" and "Plastic Man" (Monster/Muscle Growth and Bat Transformations)

 Two items from DC comics.

Nightwing #31 features Roland Desmond, a sleazy millionaire who can turn into a musclebound monster known as the Blockbuster. In this scene, Desmond is about to give a speech but then ambushed by Talon, another villain, who forces Desmond to transform in public:

Our second item is from Plastic Man #5 and features a short Man-Bat transformation:

Werewolf Round-Up 08/20 (Werewolf Transformations)

My thanks to Ian Ricky for recommending all of these items.

First, a claymation transformation:

Now on to some lycanthropic action from the music video of "Du Riechst So Gut '98" by the German dance-metal band Rammstein (at 2:40):

This scene from Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko: Sa Ilalim ng Buwan (episode 140?) features a wolfman turning into a wolf (at :0:41) and the wolfman reverting to human form (at 01:10). Be warned, this is Filipino TV and has bargain basement special effects.

A short animated TF:

And now a blast from the past: The Mask and The Monster (2007), a flash animation by Chris Miller:

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Lion Reversion)

Kumaguma, here with another transformation from a video game. The scene comes from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and features Caineghis, King of Galia, the kingdom of the Beast Tribe Laguz. Here is a video of him shifting to his human form:

Black Panther and the Agents Of Wakanda (Werewolf Transformation)

The first issue of this miniseries includes an appearance from the Man-Wolf, one of Marvel's most famous lycanthropes. We see him lose his cool on the job:

He transforms again in issue 4:
