Titans (Bat Transformation)

Welcome to our Thanksgiving Update! 24 new posts await you. Our thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions and apologies if we missed any.

Gar (aka Beast Boy) finally transforms into something else than a tiger in episode 12 of season 3. I was happily surprised that they focused on the facial transformation, which is often skipped in these type of scenes, and the CGI was also better than expected. The clip runs slightly long because I couldn't resist including a shirtless shot of Ryan Potter at the end.

A Tale Dark and Grimm (Monster Transformation)

In "Chapter the Third: Brother and Sister," Hansel is afflicted with a curse due to his hunger and greed and transforms into a beast (which looks like a werewolf with horns) that has a never-ending thirst for blood.

We've edited this clip to also show Hansel's gradual mental transformation. You'll notice that though this show is computer animated, the transformation scene is hand-drawn, because computer animation for TV cartoons still can't render adequate transformation scenes. I think if the entire show had been hand-drawn we might have seen Hansel transform more onscreen.

Note: we usually try to avoid duplicating material already featured at Shadowlord Inc., but since this post was drafted before Shadowlord's recent update we've made an exception.

Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven (Bear, tiger, cheetah, and wolf transformations)

Last year we covered the first Beast Boy comic in DC's"Graphic Novels for Young Adults" series. This year we bring you the second, where he meets up with Raven.

In an early scene Gar partially transforms into a bear while fighting a mugger:

In the climax he's kidnapped by evil scientists and forced to transform into various animals:

Luckily some friends stage a rescue. Beast Boy escapes by turning into a tiger:

Adventure Time: Distant Lands (Demon Transformation)

Our thanks to Theultimatecrusader for recommending these scenes from the final episode, titled "Wizard City." The character Peppermint Butler undergoes a two-stage transformation into a demon/monster. The first stage occurs at the start of this clip. The second stage occurs at 0:52:

And here is the reversion:

In related news, we have fixed the link to our Adventure Time post from 2017, which featured a monster transformation.

Star Wars Adventures (Monster Transformations & Muscle Growth)

Animorphs: The Graphic Novel -- The Visitor (Hawk and Tiger Transformations)

Last year we brought you scans from the first Animorphs graphic novel (and a commenter also brought a try-out version to our attention). This year we bring you the second GN, illustrated like the first by Chris Grine. Unfortunately it only has two scenes of male transformations, and here they are.

At the beginning the cast members revert from hawks and eagles to human form:

Jake, the brown-haired kid seen in the previous image, transforms into a flea off-panel and reverts to human form before turning into a tiger:

Let's see what volume three will bring next year!

Ham Helsing: Vampire Hunter (Werewolf Transformations and Reversion)

Ham Helsing encounters a werewolf, who acts more like a dog and then reverts into a kid:

In the morning the werewolf transforms back into a human:

As the sun sets, he starts to get hairy and turns werewolf again:

One Piece (Monster Transformations)

The Mink Tribe (who are not minks but a variety of beast people) transform into their Sulong monster forms to fight a draconic pirate captain:

Definitely not a Werewolf (Werewolf Transformation)

A video showing the transformation of someone who is definitely not a werewolf:

Macbeth with Dinosaurs (Human Transformation)

Siward, the dinosaur star of this Adult Swim cartoon, gets bitten by a (human) dad and transforms into a "were-dad" (technically "dino-dad"). Then another dinosaur and a monster character get transformed. Before the end they all transform back to their normal dinosaur selves

Ninja Scroll (Werewolf Transformation)

In the first episode, the Hiruko Clan ninja Rouga partially transforms his hands into claws to fight an enemy. Later on he transforms fully to save a young girl from monsters but ends up dying:

Webtoon Round-Up (Rhino and Werewolf Transformations)

Webtoons are a type of digital webcomic comic that originated in South Korea and designed to be read on smartphones. We bring you a half dozen of them.

* In episode five of The Ordeal, Tevin Matthias Charles uses his Hide Forge talent during a deadly battle   to gain a literal rhino hide.

All of the remaining webtoons in this post were recommended to us on our Discord channel by Discounted_Milk. Thanks!

* In Escape Cal survives a werewolf attack and then experiences his first transformation, starting here in episode 6. It continues into the next chapters.

* Episode 97 of The Hunt  Rys starts wolfing out to protect his crush Avery from a supposed ghost. Continue reading through to episode 100.

* In chapter two of Peripety Leif encounters a stranger while escaping his village. The stranger turns into a werewolf and then bites Leif, who transforms too.

* In chapter 1.15 of Run.Stop.Go the werewolf Kurt encounters a vampire in the restroom and accidentally transforms in anger. Click through to the next two pages for the rest. There's also a quick reversion at 01.25.

* Sweet Talk is not a webtoon but a webcomic, which is close enough for our purposes. In chapter 1, page 7,  Alexander starts transforming into a werewolf while a vampire watches (click the next pages to see the rest). In ch. 2 page 7 he reverts to human form

Thanks again Discounted_Milk!

Gorith Side Project (Gorilla Transformation)

"Hunter X Hunter", "Ninku," and "Kekkaishi" (Muscle Growth Transformations)

Our thanks to Ian Ricky for providing these clips.

Episode 9 of Hunter X Hunter has a muscle growth scene featuring Majtani, a prisoner in Trick Tower who tests examinees in the 287th Hunter Exam:

In episode 15 of Ninku a villain named Fuijin the Dragon is seen bulking up:

Last but not least, an edit of scenes from episodes 3 and 4 of Kekkaishi, featuring Yoki, a giant demon able to regenerate his limbs and body. He increases his muscle mass to increase his strength and speed, but in the process loses his senses and tries to hurt his owner Yomi. His first transformation is at 05:30 and the next is at 08:00:

"Artie and the Wolf Moon" & "Calafrio" (Werewolf Reversions)

In Artie and the Wolf Moon the main character's father sees one of the werewolves transform back into his human form:

And from the Brazilian comic Calafrio #25, another werewolf reversion:

Mon Colle Knights & Pretty Cure (Monster Transformations)

Thanks to Ian Ricky for providing these clips, which show minotaurs undergoing muscle growth.

In episode 45 of Mon Colle Knights a berserker minotaur increases his strength and muscle mass by drinking ruby nectar (at 01:17:

The next clip combines scenes from two anime films with very long titles: Pretty Cure Splash☆Star Tic-Tac Crisis Hanging by a Thin Thread! (2006) and Pretty Cure All Stars DX3: Rainbow Flower to the Future (2011). The villainous minotaur Sirloin grows to giant-size, but his overconfidence and arrogance fatally cloud his judgement and common sense.

Zagor (Werewolf Transformation)

Wherever comics are sold in Italy, you're sure to find Zagor, which has been popular comics since 1961. Issue 587 features a werewolf who's slow to reveal himself. I've included an earlier page that shows him in human form.

Surnaturels (Werewolf Transformation)

Vol. 4 of this manga-style French comic features a werewolf character. I'm not sure what's going on in the scene below, but it seems to involve the werewolf gaining extra powers from a colleague while fighting feral werewolves.

Here's a second, less spectacular, transformation:
