From Apuleius:

The update is now live! And to be honest, it's incomplete. I ran out of time and wasn't able to post post around half a dozen items. But since I set a hard deadline, I wanted to meet it and not disappoint anyone. Nevertheless, I must apologize to several people whose suggestions I wasn't able to fulfill. Next time around!

I must also apologize for the long delay between updates, since I had less free time this spring. Kumaguma has suggested that we try making smaller and more frequent updates, and that's an idea I like and which we'll try to implement.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the 21 new items served up for your pleasure. Let me know of any errors or any suggestions you have (and any you think I've forgotten about!).

As always, my greatest thanks go to my co-editor Kumaguma, without whom this blog couldn't keep running.

Disenchantment (Monster Transformation)

From Season 2, episode 4 ("Goon Baby Goon"): people are transformed into Goons by Becky and Cloyd with the use of a claw:

The Boys Presents: Diabolical (Gorilla, Snake, and Shark Transformations & Muscle Growth)

Found in an anthology series based on The Boys universe, the short "An Animated Short Where Pissed-Off Supes Kill Their Parents" has a group of abandoned teenagers taking vengeance on the parents who abandoned them because their superpowers weren't seen as profitable. One of them is Kingdom, who can transform into any animal in body and mind:

Another short from the series, "Boyd in 3D" shows a man testing an ointment that can change a person's appearance based on their imagination:

In from the Cold (Transgender Transformation)

Thanks to noodle on our Discord server for recommending this scene from episode one of this Netflix series. A female spy has to go undercover in a male prison, so she shapeshifts into a man:

eLaLiga Santander and Giants (Hulk/Muscle Growth & Dog Transformation)

Both of these commercials are for esports companies and came recommended by Noodle on our Discord server.

Here is a Hulk-out from "eLaLiga Santander IS BACK!" [EDIT: the video doesn't allow embedding so we've provided a link instead.]

And now a (buff) Shiba Inu transformation from "Todo ha cambiado -- el nuevo Giants":

(If the cue doesn't work it's 30 seconds in.)

Ghostopolis (Age Progression)

In this graphic novel the protagonist goes into the afterlife and meets his grandpa, who is represented as a child. When grandpa "grows inside" his spirit form also "ages."

The Hunter & Meet Arnold (Werewolf Transformations)

Thanks to Noodles on our Discord server for recommending this computer animated short, about a hunter becomes the hunted when his tied-up prey sees the full moon rise:

And as a bonus, here's an episode from the YouTube animated series "Meet Arnold," titled "What if You Get Bitten by a Vampire and a Werewolf at the Same Time?"

Ryuu wa Tasogare no Yume o Miru (Dragon Transformations)

Note: This is an expansion of an old post from 2012. We've revised it and added lots of images, including some unavailable anywhere else online.

Also known as The Dragon Dreams of Twilight, this two-volume manga stars Kiya, a lab-raised teenager who can turn into a dragon. He is forced by his handler T.J. to work for a secret organization that destroys monsters.

Here's his first transformation:

Here is a brief scene for those who like tails:

Next up, Kiya's longest transformation scene. How nice of the artist to spend five lovingly detailed pages on it!

Later on Kiya partially transforms at an awkward time:

At the end of the first volume (and beginning of the second), Kiya and T.J. run into some werewolf-like monsters. Kiya transforms, and then, at T. J.'s prompting, goes into berserk feral mode:

Only the first chapter of volume 2 was translated, and since I couldn't find raw scans online, I bought the book and scanned the TF scenes myself. You'll have to forgive my scanner's inferior visual quality. One more thing: I bought the German translation of volume 2, since it was cheaper than the Japanese original. So if you know German, you're in luck.

While on a cruise Kiya starts transforming:

Shortly afterward Kiya runs into another werewolf-type monster:

Back on land,  Kiya undergoes an unexpected transformation at home:

And finally, here is a partial TF:

And that's all. What a pity this manga was never adapted as an anime!
