Creepshow Holiday Special (Turtle and Werewolf Transformations)

Merry Christmas everyone! As promised, here is our Winter Holiday Update, with 22 items (most from Kumaguma). What better place to start than with A Creepshow Holiday Special: Shapeshifters Anonymous?

One of the shapeshifters becomes a turtle, with comical results. He looks like a middle-aged mutant ninja turtle but sucks at fighting, as seen in his battle against Evil Santa Claus (don't ask). Fear not, he survives!

The shapeshifters of course include some werewolves but I was less impressed by their transformations. The clip below contains three scenes:

01. In the pre-credits, a skeletal ghoul turns into a wolfman.

02. Near the climax, the main character drinks a potion that turns him into a werewolf.

03. Another character turns into an Alpha-style Werewolf to combat Evil Santa Claus. Alas, we only see his shadow transform.

Resident Alien (Alien-to-Human Transformation)

Thanks to Noodles and Ian Ricky for recommending this clip from episode 1. An alien crash lands on Earth and disguises himself as a human by assuming the identity of a doctor he murdered:

BEM: Become Human (Demon & Monster Transformations)

BEM: Become Human is the spin-off film of the anime series Humanoid Monster Bem. The clip below is a supercut of all the transformation scenes in the film. Since it's lengthy, I've provided a list of the scenes.

0:00 A thug transforms into a yokai (Japanese demon).
1:21 The protagonist Bem starts transforming into a yokai.
1:48 Bem's fake children transform into yokai, while the villain taunts him on the phone. After slaying the monsters, Bem goes outside and finds the townsfolk turning into yokai as well.
3:28 Bem enters the villain's headquarters and fights a yokai security guard.
3:40 Bem confronts one of the secondary villains, who turns into a metallic monster.
4:45 Bem meets with his young ally Belo, who can also turn into a yokai (a good one).
4:54 Bem finally confronts the main villain. He fully transforms into a yokai, but the villain responds by turning into a giant white monster.
6:03 Bem's yokai form grows more monstrous.

Note: We plan posting the TF scenes from the series as well, but they're mostly computer morphs and thus inferior to the 2D animated transformations in this clip.

The Last Kids on Earth (Monster Transformation & Muscle Growth)

From the 9th episode of season 3 ("Belly of the Beast"), we get a nice bit of Hulk-style monster madness involving strongman (or boy?) Dirk Savage:

Hiwaga ng Kambat (Bat Transformation)

This Tv show from the Philippines involves two brothers. The good one has been cursed to transform into a anthropoid bat, while the bad one is a spoiled brat. In this clip (from episode 17) the good brother's curse is transferred to the bad brother. The good one has a partial reversion and the bad one has a complete transformation:

In the next episode the bad brother (played by handsome Grae Fernandez) has two reversion scenes:

Werewolf By Night (werewolf transformations)

Marvel's new version of Werewolf By Night has been underwhelming in the transformation department but does include some reversion scenes.

From issue 1:

And from issue 2:

And here's a transformation:

Jujutsu Kaisen (Monster Transformation)

From episode 12: After realizing he was being manipulated, Junpei is transformed by the manipulative Cursed Spirit into a monster right in front of the hero:

Banned Red Bull Commercial (Wing growth)

Thanks to Mike for recommending this funny parody commercial, which intercuts three stories about the possible side-effects of the energy drink. You'll never hear "Red Bull gives you wings" the same way again!

Constantine & Ōkami-kun... (Werewolf & Dog Transformations)

In Constantine (New 52) #16 the magical detective searches for a hermit in the woods, who is also being tracked by some villains. It turns out that the hermit is a werewolf; he transforms to attack his assailants:

On the lighter side of lycanthropy, here's a somewhat less frightening were-canine, from the manga Ōkami-kun wa Hayakawa-san ni katenai (chapter 1):

My Life as a Teenage Robot (Gorilla Transformation and Reversion)

In this episode ("Infectious Personality," season 3, ep. 8) Sheldon is infected by an unknown disease and transforms into a gorilla-like form. Later on Jenny obtains a cure and turns him back to normal:

Ang Lihim ni Annasandra (Pig Transformation)

Note: this is an expansion and revision of a post from 2015.

Pig transformations are scarce on this blog, so I'm grateful to Elrey (from the Process Forum, who discovered the clips) and Ian Ricky (who supplied the updated and additional links).

Ang Lihim ni Annasandra is a Filipino drama about a young woman cursed to transform into a boar at night. Her boyfriend eventually succumbs to the curse as well, and in this scene his transformation is intercut with hers. The CGI is zero-budget and and uses the black fur of the boar to cheat, but we do get some clothes-ripping and a beefy man-boar.

Here's the first transformation of the boyfriend Enrico (played by Pancho Magno), from episode 49 (at -3:19):

In episode 87 we get a boar-to-man reversion (at 14:37):

And in the next episode he gets a final transformation scene, though it's intercut with that of a female character (at 15:00):

Edit: Noodles on our Discord server has discovered another TF scene, in episode 84:

Saturday, October 31, 2020

Welcome to our update! The full moon is on Halloween this year, so you might be too busy transforming into a werewolf while trick and treating to go through all 28 of our new posts. But they'll be here after you change back again! Unless otherwise credited, each post is by Kumaguma, though Apuleius edited everything (and is therefore responsible for all errors!). Thanks to everyone who sent in their suggestions--we didn't get around to fulfilling all of them, but that's what the next update is for. Enjoy this one in the meantime. And have a very spooky Halloween!

Postscript, November 7: Our congratulations to the President Elect! We're so happy we're promising the next update will happen on or before Christmas!

Yo-kai Watch Jam - Yo-kai Academy Y: Close Encounters of the N Kind (Dog Transformation)

Apuleius here, bringing you several scenes from episode 33 of this recent anime (妖怪学園Y 〜Nとの遭遇〜). The series has not yet been subtitled, so we have to guess what's happening. From what I can see, a boy tells his schoolfriends that he thinks he's a werewolf. Another friend drops by and shows everyone a hamburger she's bought has an egg on the patty. The perfectly round and full moon-shaped egg causes the boy to transform...but not exactly into a werewolf...

This isn't the first time that a Japanese show/game/movie has decided a round object can make a werecreature transform just as easily as the full moon. Also, since a dog is just a domesticated wolf, isn't a weredog just a domesticated werewolf? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Star Trek: Lower Decks & Carrion (Alien Transformations)

In episode 5 Beckett has a flashback of a Barvogian shape-changer revealing himself and killing her friend:

And here is a bonus video that also involves an alien transformation, sent in by an Anonymous reader. It's a trailer for the "reverse horror" video game Carrion:

Project Power (Monster/Muscle Growth Transformation)

Apuleius here, with a scene from a feature film released this year. I don't know anything more about it, but in this scene a bad guy ingests something that turns him into a lumpy muscle-bound giant that somewhat resembles the Hulk.

Lovecraft Country (Monster Transformation)

Thanks to CringeLord on our Discord server for recommending this transformation from the HBOMax series Lovecraft Country. A group of police officers and civilians are chased by Shoggoths to a cabin where they are trapped.  One of the officers is bit and begins transforming into one of the monsters:

(In case anything happens to this video, here is an alternative link).

Animorphs: The Graphic Novel (Cat, Dog, Hawk, Tiger and Gorilla Transformations)

Apuleius here, with scans from Animorphs: The Graphic Novel: The Invasion. It's a 237 page adaptation of the original novel. I've never read the book and I'm outside its target audience, but this comic looks like a high-quality production. It's lovingly drawn and the transformations are far more appealing the CGI ones from the old TV show.

In the first scans, Tobias tells his friend Jake that he has morphed into his pet cat Dude. Jake is skeptical, so Tobias demonstrates a transformation and reversion:

Jake is inspired by this and attempts morphing into his pet dog Homer. He succeeds!

Further on, Jake and his friend Marco are visited by a hawk that is really Tobias:

The kids are pursued by evil aliens, so Marco and Jake sneak into a zoo to touch a gorilla and tiger. They succeed and then get the hell out of there. The scans after this skip to the the book's climax, when Marco and Jake transform into a gorilla and tiger to fight the nasty aliens:

Marvel's Spiderman: Maximum Venom (Rhino Reversion and Transformation)

In episode 4 of season 3 Spider-Man and his team manage to revert a rhino-human hybrid back to human form. It is only temporary,  since he soon transforms back into a rhino:

https://youtu.be/z5B9Au_izr8

Our thanks to Metabee17 for pointing out that in the next episode the Lizard (aka Dr. Kurt Connors) returns and Norman Osborn becomes the Dark Goblin (after getting symbiote poured all over him). Osborn had promised to cure Dr. Connors's transformations if Connors helped him become the Dark Goblin. Connors fulfilled the bargain but Osborn betrayed him.

Ling Cage: Incarnation (Monster Transformation)

In episode 11 of this Chinese ONA (original net animation), a "dead" man is placed in a cremation chamber; instead of burning he transforms into one of the monsters that plagues human survival on Earth:

(In anything happens to this link, here is an alternative provided by Ian Ricky)

Teen Titans: Beast Boy (Coyote and Bear Transformations)

This retelling of Beast Boy's origin is part of DC's "Graphic Novels for Young Adults" series, which means it's intended for young teenagers more interested in high school drama than superheroes.

The good stuff begins when Garfield Logan grows six inches overnight:

Eventually Garfield/Beast Boy transforms for the first time, into a coyote:

When his friends are surrounded by wolves, Gar is forced to transform yet again, this time into a Grizzly Bear:

Re:Zero (Weretiger Transformation)

In episode 34, Love Love Love Love Love Love You, While trying to fight the Witch of Envy, Garfiel transforms in his Weretiger form in hopes of combating this powerful force (Sidenote: I've been looking forward a bit in the light novel, and there might be future transformations with this character):

Legend of Tang (Wolf Transformation)

A thank you to Noodles on our Discord server for finding this clip from a computer-animated Chinese anime called Legend of Tang (Tianbao Fuyao Lu / 天宝伏妖录). We're completely unfamiliar with the show, but as you can see a character named Mo Rigen is shown transforming into a wolf:

Nocturnal Commissions (Werewolf Transformations)

The first issue of Nocturnal Commissions starts with a navy officer having an itch during a full moon night on a submarine. He transforms into a werewolf and infects the rest of the crew, who start chasing the sub captain.

Giabite (Monster Transformation)

The world is heading toward apocalypse, thanks to a disease affecting the global population. But enough about the news, let's talk about this anime, which has the same premise. But here the disease threatens humanity with near extinction, because it transforms people into monsters. In this clip we see two people who have time-traveled to this period and have encountered an unfortunate victim:

The Misfit of Demon King Academy (Demon Transformation)

Episode 11, Glow of Life, the overpowered reincarnated Demon King cast a spell on a would-be hero to show what he truly looks like deep down in his heart:

Gary and His Demons (Rat and Monster Transformation)

In episode 7 Gary and his friends are trapped between walls closing in; a gentlemanly mouse offers to help them escape, with monstrous consequences:

In episode 8, Gary is dealing with his age and tries to become young again. He injects a formula that turns out to contain rat DNA instead and turns into a rat:

In episode 11, Jerry's Gary's partner gets bitten by a fish demon and turns into a fish monster:

Wild Thornberrys (Human Reversion)

In the episode "Gift of Gab," Eliza meets and frees a warthog caught in a bear trap. The warthog then reveals his true form, that of a shaman:

https://dai.ly/x7w63wb

Superman: Man of Tomorrow (Monster Transformation)

From the latest animated Superman film, a transformation involving a reworking of a classic supervillain, the Parasite. Rudy Jones was a janitor who ended up being covered by a purple alien liquid. At the hospital, he wakes up and begins to absorb people's energy, transforming a larger, more alien, and more monstrous form each time. By the end he has become a giant-sized purple Parasite. This clip edits together several scenes to show the progress of his transformation:

"Beast Branding" & "Report Corruption" (Crocodile and Caveman Transformations)

Apuleius here, bringing you two commercials.

"Beast Branding" is a recent Spanish-language ad for ampm. I initially assumed this was a wolfman, but a reader points out it's more likely a caveman. (Thanks to Joey Liverwurst for the clip.)

Next, an ad from Hong Kong, made in 1994 to promote the Independent Commission Against Corruption. The claymation croc is well done!

Saur Animation (Dinosaur Transformation)

The artist Growth Dom creates computer-animated transformation videos on YouTube; several involve muscle growth and werewolves. "Saur" was recommended to us by Ian Ricky and involves a man turning into a humanoid dinosaur after eating a dinosaur egg:

Part 2 is forthcoming, so keep an eye on Growth Dom's channel

The Weregoat (Goat Transformation)

An animatic about a man finding an artifact. You can guess from the title what happens next!

The Weregoat (Animatic) from Jack Rinderknecht on Vimeo.

Scooby Doo and Guess Who! (Bat Transformation and Reversion)

Episode 13 of this Scooby Doo team-up series features Batman and Man-Bat. In this scene Batman goes to Arkham Asylum to see if Kirk Langstrom is still imprisoned. He still is. Seeing Batman, Langstrom transforms into Man-Bat and claws at the glass of his cell. Batman arrives at a deduction and turns to leave; Man-Bat reverts back to Langstrom and gives a polite goodbye:

Art Round-Up 10/20 (Various Transformations)

Time for another stroll through the wide world of transformation art and webcomics available online. Since this update is happening on a full moon on Halloween, there will lots of werewolves involved! (But plenty of other beasties too, no fear.)

Let's start with a collection of werewolf art found on Twitter:

Now for a pair of webcomics!

"Highschool Bites" features a werewolf among its main protagonists. He transforms in Chapter 7 ("Things Get Furry") and reverts in Chapter 9 ("Safety First"). He quickly transforms at the start of Chapter 26 ("Name Calling") and reverts in Chapter 28 ("Playing Doctor").

The premise of the webcomic "My boyfriend turned into a dinosaur" is explained by its title. In Chapter 12 the boyfriend transforms from a humanoid dinosaur to a full one when his girlfriend is attacked (his final form is seen in the next chapter).  In Chapter 17 he clams down and reverts to humanoid dinosaur form.

***

In this section of the Round-Up we're featuring several comics that aren't freely available and must be paid for to view. Regarding paid material, our policy is to recommend only material that we have viewed and can personally vouch for.

In a previous post we mentioned the webcomic "Ask the Werewolves." A new issue is now available and can be purchased here. The story involves the couple going out on a stressful date that causes Duran, the male partner, to transform and find "relief" in the restroom. If you want to purchase issues 1-3, here are links:

Issue 1       Issue 2       Issue 3

*

The next comic we recommend is more homoerotic and comes from Agatha Hart. "By Moonlight" is about a werewolf trying to hide from the moonlight until his sweet human boyfriend gives him assistance transforming. You might have seen censored pages of this comic posted on Ms. Hart's Furaffinity account, but here is your chance to purchase a complete uncensored pdf of chapter 1.

We conclude by switching to written TF.

DesirD has asked us to let readers know of his "Werewolf of Las Vegas series". The link is to their Furaffinity folder, but the stories began life at CYOC.com and can be read by going to the author's profile page and reading upward from "Werewolf of Vegas."

Last but never least, TC Lin, one of the first and very best TF writers, has brought his classic stories involving BIPOC men back to Furaffinity. You can read them here

"Shed Skin Papa" & "Alien Monster" (Age Regression and Alien Transformations)

Our thanks to Ian Ricky for providing both of these clips from Chinese-made feature films.

Shed Skin Papa (2016, 脱皮爸爸) involves a man who literally sheds his skin to become his younger self:

The creatively titled Alien Monster (2020, 异星怪兽之荒野求生) involves...well, you can guess! It also involves a partial alien transformation. Alas, the final stage of the metamorphosis happens offscreen:

Bastard Fur (Werewolf Transformation)

We usually focus on visual material, but here is an audio-only program for you. Samuel is attacked by a wolf while camping out with his cousin. On the night of the full moon, his neighbor Clint tries to warn him before he transforms. The fun starts at 18:03:

The second episode begins with the aftermath of the transformation:

In the third episode Samuel transforms into a more wolf-man form (starting at 16:00):

Fixed Links!

Broken links have been a recurring annoyance during the decade we've spent running this blog. YouTube is in perpetual flux; videos and accounts are deleted right and left while rights holders change their minds every minute about what they will and won't allow people to upload. Some have good sense--they allow shot clips to stay but prohibit the uploader from monetizing them. That's fine with us, because we have never made money from this blog and never intended to. But many rights holders have no sense at all--they will block brief clips that have been online for years and served as useful free advertising for their product.

Anyway, as you can see there are many broken video links on this blog. On occasion we try to fix them, but our minds are usually on future updates. So if there are any specific links you would like to see fixed, let us know. In the meantime, here are five restored video posts, each a blast from the past.

Transformers: Rescue Bots (Monster Transformation)

UPDATE TIME! I know it's been a while, but 2020 has been and probably will be a very slow year...for everything. But to help you pass the dog days of summer and in-home confinement, here are 31 items for you, spread over a couple of pages. Let us know what you think!

"Feed the Beast" is the title of the ninth episode of season three of Transformers: Rescue Bots, and for a very good reason. Graham, one of the human characters, develops an addiction to "Magic Meat," which ends up transforming him into a hulking beast:

(I  appreciate how his clothes burst completely off!)

Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen (Turtle Transformation)

The first issue of the limited series Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen pays homage to the Silver Age comic of the same name, which often featured Jimmy Olsen transforming into various weird monster and creatures. So here we see Jimmy turn into a monster-size Turtle. As always, Superman is there to save him and limit potential property damage. I especially like this comic because  there aren't many turtle transformations on this blog...or anywhere else...

Is it wrong to say naked Jimmy Olsen is kind of hot?

"Beware the Moon" and "Jekyll and Hyde" (Werewolf and Monster Transformations)

Thanks to Ian Ricky (from our Discord channel) and ClassyMike for recommending this video. It is based on the mythic movie scene from An American Werewolf in London, but in an animated form. A transformation I am sure that many have seen and loved. This is the artist's original video by the way.

The same artist, Jota Han, has also animated Dr. Jekyll's transformation into Mr. Hyde:

Chatons contre Dinosaures (Dinosaur Transformation)

The title of this French comic translates to Kittens versus Dinosaurs. I will try to summarize the plot: a young girl is given a set of kittens by her dad, who is a scientist. The kittens turn out to be ninja kitties who help the girl foil an alien invasion. The aliens have hatched a dastardly plot to turn humans into dinosaurs, and one of their victims is the girl's father!

Alas, the reversion scene is not shown, but I included the panels below anyway.
