Creepshow (Werewolf Transformations)

Episode two of the TV series Creepshow is titled "Bad Wolf Down" and set during World War II. A group of three American soldiers are holed up in a small house under siege by the Nazis. Inside with them is a dying woman who turns out to be a suicidal werewolf. The Americans give her a silver cross to commit suicide with, and in return she bites the three soldiers, who transform into werewolves and kill all the Nazis who attack the house.

This is obviously a low-budget show, because the transformations are depicted as comic book pages, flipped before the viewer's eyes. They're not live-action or even animated, but the comic panels are well-drawn. I know some people were disappointed by this, but if the only alternatives were off-camera transformations or really cheap CGI, then I'm okay with the comics effect.

But since these are more comic than live-action transformations, I've decided to add screencaps of each panel below the video. Enjoy!

Now for the screencaptures. Due to the annoying "page flip," different frames of each panel have been partially obscured, so I've occasionally repeated frames from the same panel in order to show the full image.

First we have the rookie:

Next, his older comrade:

Finally, the middle-aged Captain:

Size Matters & Bonus (Muscle Growth Transformations)

My thanks to Featherwolf for finding this clip from episode one of the BBC program Size Matters, which examines what humans might look like if they evolved to giant size:

As a related bonus, here is a short muscle growth video:

Amazing Spider-Man: Full Circle (Werewolf Transformation)

Marvel decided to try a weird stunt: have seven creative teams work round-robin style on a lengthy Spider-Man comic, with each team picking up where the previous one left off. No planning allowed until the final chapter. The result, Amazing Spider-Man: Full Circle #1, is of course a goofy mess, and it involves werewolves.

There's no point in explaining the plot, so here's a brief set-up: Spider-Man returns from space to find everyone on earth has changed into werewolves. At first he seems immune, but then he views the full moon...(Question for Marvel nerds: is this the first time Spider-Man has turned into a werewolf?)

Spider-Werewolf catches a mugger (also a werewolf, of course) and starts beating him up, until he turns into a more humanoid Spider-Wolfman. It turns out that the werewolf form is only caused by the full moon--the rest of the time everyone looks like a wolfman:

Then Spider-Man fully turns back into a man:

Swords of Sorrow & Wolvenheart (Werewolf Transformations)

Here are werewolf scenes from two unrelated comics. First up is the one-shot Swords of Sorrow: Chaos! It features a rare blond werewolf, but he isn't around for long:

Next up are some preview pages from the first issue of the independent conic Wolvenheart, which can be ordered here.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Bear Transformation)

Kumaguma here with another transformation from the newest iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the episode "Snow Day" the villain Ghostbear gets mutated into a polar bear, his namesake, and even gains the power of intangibility. Here is the clip:

Peleja no Sertão (Werewolf Transformation)

Kumaguma here with a transformation from the Brazilian short film Peleja no Sertão, which was brought to our attention by Pareidolonon on the blog's Discord channel. This animated short involves an werewolf that stalks a group of passengers after an accident with the truck. It bites the hero, who transforms and defeats it. Here is the transformation, which is quite well animated:

There's also a reversion at 12:05. If you enjoyed the film, please let the filmmaker know, and consider supporting his next project.

Cautious Hero (Humanoid Dragon Transformation)

Here is a quick partial transformation from the anime Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru, aka Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious. My thanks to AP Ninja at the Process board for reporting it.

In episode 5 one of the sidekick characters--Mash, "a young dragonkin warrior"--encounters Leviae, the Great Mother of Dragons, who transforms him into a humanoid dragon (or "dragonewt"). In case the cue doesn't work, scroll to 22:37

Apparently in future episode Mash will be able to transform into a full dragon, so I hope someone keeps tabs on this show.

Atomic Betty (Werewolf Transformation)

Kumaguma here with some transformations from the Canadian cartoon Atomic Betty. In the episode "Werewolves on Zeebot" a shapeshifting alien called the Chameleon turns the moon red and transforms the inhabitants of planet Zeebot into werewolves. Later we also see the Chameleon transform into a werewolf, along with Atomic Betty's team members. All the transformations have been edited together for your convenience:

Family Guy (Werewolf Reversion)

Kumaguma here with another werewolf transformation from, of all things, Family Guy. The episode is titled "Disney's the Reboot" and has a segment that starts out as a teen drama, then turns superheroic and finally ends with a werewolf attack. The lycanthrope turns out to be Brian!

The Witcher 3 (Vampire/Monster Transformation)

Kumaguma here with a transformation from The Witcher 3, particularly from the Blood and Wine expansion pack. Here is the higher vampire, Dettlaf, transmogrifying into his bat form while battling Geralt:

Titans (Tiger Transformation)

Season two of this show has not featured Gar (Beast Boy), as much as we'd hoped. But in episode 10 ("Fallen," episode 21 overall), there's a partially glimpsed scene of him transforming into his tiger form. This is another example of a frustrating scene that has a great opening but then cuts away. Anyway, in this clip I've edited together scenes of Gar transforming and then being shot with tranquilizers--there's no reversion, but we do get some skin from the lovely Ryan Potter. To make up for the quickness of the scene, I've posted some screenshots below the video too.

Jughead the Hunger vs Vampironica (Werewolf Transformation & Reversion)

Issue 3 of this silly gorefest has another scene of Jughead transforming into his werewolf form; issue 3 has the ensuing reversion. The series is now ended--I don't know if werewolf Jughead will be returning, but I'd certainly like to see him on that equally silly Riverdale show...
