Werewolves (Werewolf Transformations)

Welcome to the holiday update! We close 2024 on a high note, with 20 new posts, and wish to thank all our readers, including those who made suggestions and contributions in the comments or in our Discord channel. Let's hope for a New Year full of further transformations!

Now we move on to a movie released just this month, Werewolves. What a relief to find a recent werewolf film with good transformation scenes!

In the first scene, several test subjects are exposed to the light of the full moon and transform:

The second clip has spoilers and reveals the climax, so consider yourself forewarned. But if you're just interested in a good TF scene, watch and enjoy!

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (Monster Transformation)

Thanks to A.M. Studios for alerting us to this scene from the latest Lara Croft cartoon (episode 7). The  villain absorbs magical stones into his body, which transform him into a monster resembling the pixiu, a monster from Chinese mythology that resembles a winged lion. This clip, assembled from various scenes, includes a reversion at the end:

Just Imagine: Wonder Woman (Monster Transformation & Muscle Growth)

Just Imagine was a miniseries where Stan Lee, famous figurehead of Marvel Comics, reimagined several of DC Comics' most popular superheroes. In the Wonder Woman issue the villain is a South American sleazeball who unleashes demons from runes and absorbs their powers, gradually turning into a monster as he travels to Los Angeles.

Fangs & Fury (Werewolf Transformation)

Chinese werewolf movies are rare (previous examples can be seen here and here), and now we see one more, Fangs & Fury (狼战). The onscreen transformation is only partial, but perhaps the film reflects growing interest in werewolves among the Chinese, a trend we wholeheartedly encourage.

The Orville (Arachnid/Alien Transformation)

Thanks to MrTF for finding this scene from The Orville (season 3, episode 2). A member of the spaceship crew gets ambushed by an "arachnid," a spider-like alien, and transforms into one:

Batman: Full Moon (Werewolf Transformations)

Issue 2 of this miniseries shows the werewolf Talbot transforming while locked up in church:

Talbot had earlier infected Batman, who transforms and confronts him:

The Strange Chores (Werewolf Transformation)

Episode 9 of season 3 of this Australian cartoon shows one of the main characters coming down with lycanthropy. Many thanks to Trekoid for obtaining the video!

Teen Titans: Earth One & Beast Boy: Lone Wolf (Cat, Wolf and Kaiju Transformations)

Teen Titans: Earth One was an alternate universe version of the team, and volume two features a couple Beast Boy transformations. I've re-edited and combined several panels and pages, so please forgive any choppy transitions.

First we see Beast Boy revert back from wolf form:

Later that night he turns into some sort of cat (or wolf?) when the Titans are attacked:

Lastly, at the climax he turns back into a cat to combat the villain:

Let's switch media but not character, to the animated webseries Beast Boy: Lone Wolf. In this clip Beast Boy plans on taking on Starro but can't get the transformation right and gets depressed. But thanks to a motivational speech from Mikie, he ends up pushing himself to new heights and sizes:

Black Myth: Wukong (Pig and Monster Transformations)

Our thanks to Beastwolf for finding this video game cutscene. Zhu Bajie is cursed to transform into a pig (the video should be cued to 3:03). Then at 4:25 he turns into a monster pig, and at 4:53 he reverts:

Yôkai ningen Bem (Monster Transformation)

Thanks to Ian Ricky for assembling this supercut of TF scenes from the TV series and movie 妖怪人間ベム (Yokai Ningen Bem). Bem (Kazuya Kamenashi) is a yokai who transforms into a monster whenever he feels strong emotion.

Doomed (Monster Transformations)

Doomed was a short-lived comic series about a college student named Reiser who interned at a lab and accidentally was exposed to "doomsday spores" (from the Superman villain Doomsday) that turned him into a craggy red monster.

The character first showed up in a "Sneak Peak" story in Superman: Convergence #2:

At the end he reverts to human form:

Issue #1 has a transformation on the cover, though not inside:

Issue 2 has another reversion:

Issue 3 has a flashback panel and then a transformation scene, which occurs when our hero goes looking for his aunt's dog:

Issue 4 has more reversions (with a bonus beefcake page):

In issue 5 our hero confronts Superman and transforms again:

Lastly, our hero reverts again in issue 6 (and finally finds his aunt's dog):

The Breach (Monster Transformation)

Thanks to Ian Ricky for providing this film clip, which should appeal to skin-ripping and gore fans. Local examiner Jacob Redgrave (Wesley French) steps into the mysterious portal and after he comes out begins mutating into something hideous...

The Beast D's Halloween Special (Werewolf Transformation)

The Beast D, who creates muscle growth animation, has shared a full video from his patreon. Werewolf fans should approve:

Ultraseven (Ape Transformation)

Thanks to the anonymous commenter who recommended this video, of episode 44 from the old Japanese TV series broadcast in 1968. The transformation is done in the classic Wolfman style, via dissolves:
